Fernhill Linux Project was founded in November 2011 by Phil Jackson.
Our primary objective is to promote and encourage the use of Linux based operating systems, and open source software within the local community.
We achieve this by freely providing Linux based operating systems, Open Source software and support for testing, installing and using those systems and software both locally and on-line.
We run free local workshops and discussion groups on installing, using and maintaining Linux systems. We also offer on-line support and advice to everyone in the world through our website and Facebook page. This helps the Linux community and promotes our project.
We are a non-profit organisation
All software, support and services are provided free of charge.
We ask for donations, and greatly appreciate even the smallest contribution towards our project costs.
As the project grows we hope to place computers running Ubuntu Linux in public places such as libraries, schools, local youth and community centers and we hope to secure funding through various initiatives.
